F.A.Q.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What kind of projects are Digital Capital looking to develop? (i.e.: genre of game; platform)
A:

We are focusing on digitally distributed projects, but not necessarily on an exclusive basis. It is also entirely possible that we will also, as the opportunity arises, develop technologies which we feel that are a logical fit in the Digital Capital portfolio.

Q: Does Digital Capital have a minimum or maximum amount of money to invest per project?
A:

No. Every project is on a case by case basis and we independently evaluate each project in order to make the determination whether or not the numbers for that specific project makes sense. If the numbers add up and we see the value, we introduce an appropriate financial partner to the project.

Q: How will the project’s development be managed? (i.e.: will you put in place a producer?)
A:

Digital Capital will have our own dedicated producers managing each of our projects respectively.

Q: Where do the funds come from?
A:

Digital Capital receives its funding from high wealth individual partners as well as companies and/or institutions.

Q: Are there any kinds of project Digital Capital will not invest in?
A:

We are not “Patrons of the Arts”. Digital Capital is in the business of developing high technology and software. At this stage, the largest part of our business is in the gaming industry, which means that we are essentially in show business. If there isn’t a business there isn’t a show.

Q: How should someone with an idea make a pitch for funding from Digital Capital?
A:

One of the things we frequently notice in this business is that many developers are genius at what they do. Having said that, the industry as it has existed in recent years, does not support developers becoming independent. Developers' focus is traditionally on content, where it should be, and many generally have not developed skills and contacts in the funding arena; Digital Capital provides assistance in this aspect of the process. For us, the more prepared and flexible the developer is, the better; and the faster we can help them get started on a project. See our “How to Become a Digital Capital Idea Partner” Page.

Q: Will Digital Capital retain any rights over IP?
A:

Digital Capital is in business to bring success to all of our partners. With any successful partnership, the assets have to be shared. In our business model and in the interest of both our developer partners and financial partners, all Intellectual Property rights, trademarks, copyrights and royalties, etc. are developed by and remain the property of a joint-venture thus securely benefitting all parties involved.

Q: How will Digital Capital titles be marketed?
A:

Our team work will partner with each development team to establish the most efficient and effective approach to acquiring the right consumers. There’s no such thing as a ‘template’ approach to marketing at Digital Capital.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of projects Digital Capital will fund per year?
A:

Whereas there is a practical limit to the number of projects that can be effectively managed at once, our limitation really stems from the resources of quality people and quality projects we are able to bring on board. We will never take on more than we can comfortably handle by bringing on board mediocre projects to our partners or investors, nor will we sacrifice the quality of your idea and our work by bringing in mediocre employees.
